Ellen Gallagher is one of the most innovative artists at work today, exploring issues of race and gender through painting, film, drawing and print-making. In her first solo exhibition in Canada, Ellen Gallagher: Nu-Nile, viewers are encouraged to make links between diverse media, creating a narrative that spans from Ancient Egypt, to historical and contemporary European and American contexts. Gallagher is an American artist who lives and works in Rotterdam, Holland, bringing a distanced view to her provocative subject matter.
A detailed description of Ellen Gallagher's show can be found on the Power Plant website: http://thepowerplant.org/Exhibitions/2018/Summer-2018/Nu-Nile.aspx
